Acolytes

It is a high honor to serve the church as a an
acolyte. Acolyte means
"companion" or "one who helps." Acolytes help
the pastor perform tasks during
the worship service by lighting and
extinguishing candles, assisting with the
offering and helping to serve Holy Communion.
Acolytes help everyone in the
church worship God.
An acolyte's cross is a reminder of the death
and resurrection of Jesus. The
colored ribbons represent the number of years in
which the acolyte has served.
In the fall, we encourage the rising third
graders to join our group of devoted
acolytes. We will hold training sessions to
prepare them for their duties. Please prayerfully consider the invitation to
serve your church as an acolyte. Third graders through ninth graders may
serve.
