Welcome to Youth Ministry at FFUMC! We believe that our students were created as masterpieces in the very image of God. Our ministry strives to partner with families to create a safe environment for kids to be themselves and explore God’s role in their lives. We put people before programs, and offer a relational model of ministry. Please explore our site and our values and feel free to contact our staff personally. We would love to talk to you!
1|99 is our worship environment for students in 6th-12th grade. We gather on Wednesday evenings from 6-7pm in The Studio. We share in a time of music, games, videos, a lesson, and time for reflection. All students are welcome!
Solomon’s Porch is our small group environment. It is named after the first group of followers of Jesus that would meet nightly on the porch of Solomon’s temple to share their lives together. Small groups are put together by age and gender with at least two adult leaders we call shepherds. This is a place where we make our large group smaller allowing strong relationships to be built. Solomon’s Porch meets right after 1|99 on Wednesday nights so that groups can discuss what is going on in their life as well as discuss the evening’s lesson. Middle School groups go from 7-7:30pm and high school groups go from 7-8pm.
Journey is our weekly bible study for students in 8th-12th grade. We meet at It’s A Grind Coffee Shop (across from Fayette Piedmont Hospital). We meet at 6pm on Sundays for fellowship and our study begins at 7 and finishes at 8.
8th Period is an after school program on Wednesdays. We pick kids up from school (currently 8 schools) and bring them back to the church for some study time with tutors available. 8th Period starts at 4pm and goes to 4:45, then we have snacks for the students from 4:45-5pm.
Genesis Youth Choir meets right after 8th Period on Wednesday afternoons in The Fellowship Hall. The youth choir is a fun environment with NO SINGING SKILL OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! We play games and sing songs together and sing in our worship services once a quarter. The choir rehearses from 5-5:20pm on Wednesday afternoons before the students are released to Wednesday evening fellowship dinner.
Jubilation Station is a high-energy worship environment for kids in 3rd-5th grade on Sunday mornings. Worship is lead by high school student leaders. The leaders meet at 9:20am on Sunday mornings, lead a 15 minute worship experience for the kids where they creatively introduce the bible story for the morning, then spend the rest of the hour interpreting the scripture for the next week and planning.
