During the Seasons of Advent and Lent we offer special musical services of worship and fellowship.
Good Friday Service of Tenebrae
Held on Good Friday each year, this musical service is an adaptation of the ancient Tenebrae service, which dates back to the earliest years of the church. Coming from the Latin word meaning “shadows,” Tenebrae depicts — through the extinguishing of candles and the dimming of lights in the sanctuary — the flight of the disciples and the approaching crucifixion.
Service of Lessons & Carols
This Advent service is usually held the second Sunday of Advent during the 8:30 and 11 a.m. services. The Chancel Choir and FFUMC Orchestra present the Christmas story through music and scripture readings.
